Bernard “Bernie” Price was born in Toledo, Ohio, and moved to Chicago when he was a teen.  Reserved off the court, Price on the court,  was a powerful presence. He was one of the most skilled  pivot players of the era and a valued teammate for leadership and tactical ability.
