1918-1919

World World I  ended in early November of 1918, but all the major professional basketball leagues remained suspended throughout the 1918-19 season.  In the fall of 1918,  a deadly influenza epidemic was  sweeping across America.  In October alone, over  200,000 people succumbed . The virus would eventually  sicken over 20 million Americans and leave 500,000 dead.
