CHARLIE ISLES

Charles Isles was a basketball star at DeWitt Clinton High School in New york City and also played for many years with the powerful Harlem YMCA team. Isles played professional basketball throughout the 1940’s. He spent five seasons with  the Washington Bears, a powerhouse independent team that won the 1943 World Professional Basketball Tournament championship in Chicago.
