Isadore “Doc” Edelstein captained Nat Holman’s 1923 and 1924 City College of New York Eastern basketball championship teams that posted back to back 12-1 records. Edelstein played a hand full of games for the the Washington Palace-Five while attending George Washington University Medical School. Dr. Edelstein became a renowned ophthalmologist who taught at Bellevue and Brooklyn Eye and Ear Hospital, and later was a consultant at Manhattan Veterans Hospital.
