Ed Haragden was a scholastic foootball, basketball and baseball star at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, New York. In 1932, Hargaden enrolled at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He was the leading scorer on the basketball team for three years and was named an All-American. After graduation, Haragden settled in Baltimore where he taught and coached basketball at Loyola High School for 27 years.
