STATISTICS & HISTORY
Harry Riconda made his professional debut in the 1919-20 season when he signed with the Albany team of the New York State Basketball League. In his rookie season, Riconda finished second in league scoring. In five seasons, he never finished lower then fifth in the NYSL scoring race. He began a successful four-year association with Barney Sedran and Marty Friedman. Together, they won the 1920-21 NYSL championship for Albany. They also teamed with Nat Holman under the banner of New York Whirlwinds to form one of the most powerful independent teams in the country. By the 1921-22 season, Riconda was in high demand and he adroitly scheduled himself so that he could play in all four major leagues simultaneously. During the first seven years of his career, Riconda never finished out of the top-ten in league scorers. In addition to his skills as a basketball player, Riconda was a fine professional baseball player who excelled in the high minors and played at the major league level periodically between 1923 and 1930.
