Maurice “Mickey” McNiff was a a standout high school basketball player. In 1927, he led Trenton High School to the New Jersey state interscholastic basketball championship. In 1928, he led York High School to the Eastern States interscholastic basketball championship. McNiff’s college career at the University of Pennsylvania was cut short in January of his junior year when he was declared ineligible. McNiff briefly played professional basketball without making any impact.
