Grover “Worm” WEarshing was one of the most talented all-around athletes in the history of Temple Universirty’ He starred in football from 1926 to 1929 baseball from 1927 to 1930 played basketball from 1928 to 1930 under famed coach, JimmyUsilton. He also played soccer during the 1926. Altogther, Wearshing won 11 letters, four each in football and baseball, two in basketball and one in soccer. He was captain of football and basketball teams in 1929 and 1930. He set a record by completing 28 of 32 passes in one game which stood for 40 years. He also hit over .350 as centerfielder for baseball team.
