STATISTICS & HISTORY
Ed Lewinski was a prep star at Bowen High School in Chicago. During World War II, Lewinski gained attention as the leading scorer the Central Pacific League in Hawaii, a circuit filled with future pro stars including Jim Pollard. In early 1946, Lewinski began playing professional basketball and baseball. During his brief pro basketball career, he had two good seasons wth Tri-Cities in the National Basketball League. Lewinski batted .308 in six minor league baseball seasons.
