Bob “Red” Gibson starred for the Keyser Collegians for thirteen seasons. The  Collegians were a popular independent team based in Keyser, West Virginia.The Collegians were a big draw in small towns in Indiana,Ohio Pennsylvania a and Maryland throughout the teens and twenties. During the 1926-27 season,in what  turned out to be his final season,  Gibson was a player and coach for the Akron Wellocks in the Central Basketball League.
