EDDIE YOUNGER

Eddie Younger, who stood just a few inches over 5-feet tall in high school, dazzled opponents with his speed and ball-handling skills. Younger, along with teammates Bobby Wanzer and Sonny Woods, led Benjamin Franklin High School to the 1940 New York City High School championship. Younger played at Long Island University for two seasons, serving as captain of the team the second year. Younger turned professional  in 1944 when he joined the famed New York Rens.
