Joe Evers was a talented pro basketball player whose career spanned a dozen seasons. Evers also played minor league professional baseball eight seasons and appeared in one major league baseball game in 1913 with the New York Giants. His brother, Johnny Evers was a part of a famous Chicago Cubs’ double-play combination with Joe Tinker and Frank Chance. Johnny Evers was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946.
