JACK REYNOLDS
For the first dozen years of professional basketball, each team designated one player to shoot all the free throws for the team. While no statistics for free throw percentages were kept in the early years of basketball, Jack Reynolds was generally considered to the most accurate foul shooter in the first decade of professional basketball. From 1904-05 through 1908-09, Reynolds sank more free throws than any player in the Philadelphia League by a wide margin.
