Bill Nash lettered in three sports at Newtown, High School in Queens, New York. Nash was a Helms Foundation All-American at Columbia University in 1935 and 1936. After graduation, Nash began his profession basketball career with the New York Whirlwinds, a powerful independent team. He spent the next three seasons in the American Basketball League before retiring on 1940. After service in World War II, Nash established a successful trucking business in New Jersey.
