In the early 1930’s, Albert “Arby” Esposito, playing for New Utrecht High school, was ranked among the top high school players in the metropolitan New York City area. After graduation, Esposito joined the AAU powerhouse Brooklyn Bay Rridge Hebrews. In January of 1937, Esposito, playing as “Allie” Esposito, signed a professional contract with the Brooklyn Visitation. Esposito found immediate success in the pro ranks, twice leading the Visitation in scoring. Esposito’s career was shortened by his service in the army during World war II.
