Arnold Van Faasen was a star basketball player at Christian High School in Holland , Michigan. Van Fassen led his led the team to the 1931 Michigan High School basketball championship. Van Fassen a three-year starter on the Michigan State University basketball team. He was team captain and leading scorer during both his junior and senior years. After his graduation, during the 1935-36 season, Van Faasen played pro basketball on three teams in Michigan. In August of 1936, Van Faasen died suddenly, after undergoing an emergency appendectomy a week earlier. He was just 24 years of age.
