STATISTICS & HISTORY
James “Pim” Goff outstanding all-around athlete at Illinois State College, collecting 13 varsity letters, including five in one year: football, basketball, baseball, tennis and track and field. Goff was the leading scorer on three-straight IIAC Championship basketball teams. In his senior year, Goff struck out 19 batters in one baseball game. He was an all-conference halfback on the football team in his only season. Goff played professional basketball for for five seasons and minor league professional baseball for eight seasons. Goff coached basketball at Illinois State for eight seasons , from 1950 until 1957.
