STATISTICS & HISTORY
Trim McKinstry played basketball for Union College while attending the Albany College of Pharmacy. For a half dozen seasons, McKinstry was among the fastest and most elusive players in the New York State League. He enjoyed the four best years of his pro basketball career playing for Cohoes. In 1915, he returned to his hometown as captain of the Hudson, New York entry in the New York State Basketball League. Military service in World War I shortened his playing career. McKinstry did well financially with his ownership of a drug store and other business interests in Hudson. In 1927, he financed the returned of professional basketball to Hudson and served as team president of an entry in the Metropolitan Basketball League.
