Norman “Wat” Tyler was a three-sport star at Westfield High School, starring on the basketball and baseball team and excelling on the track team as one of the best high school sprinters in New England. Tyler coached the Westfield High School basketball team that lost only one during the 1915-16 season. Tyler attended New York University, but did not participate in athletics there.
