STATISTICS & HISTORY
Pete Barry was a member of the famed Original Celtics for over twenty years. Barry’s career spanned much of the squad’s history from its inception in 1914 as a New York Lower West Side settlement team through the twenties when it dominated the sport through the ragged barnstorming days of the Depression-era 1930s. Barry was often overshadowed by the Celtics more famous stars, but his hustle and a dogged defensive effort made him an important component in the team’s success. Always in motion, Barry was a fine passer who ably complimented his more flashy teammates.
