ACE GRUENIG

Robert “Ace” Gruenig was a ten-time AAU All-American. He led three Denver teams to the National AAU championships (1937, 1939, 1942). In 1948, at the age of 35, Gruenig made his professional debut in the National Basketball League and led the the Denver Nuggets in scoring with 11 points a game.  In 1963, Gruenig was elected to Basketball Hall of Fame.
