James “Buttsey” Collins appeared in just 27 major league pro basketball games, but his career spanned 14 seasons. For over a decade, Collins was one of the most popular pro players in upstate New York. For most of his career, Collins was employed by three or four independent teams each season and played in as many as five games per week.
