STATISTICS & HISTORY
Jacob “Dutch” Garfinkel led the Thomas Jefferson High School basketball team to the 1937 New York City PSAL championship. St.John’s University posted 44-14 record during Garfinkel’s three varsity seasons. Garfinkel played professional basketball for a decade. Garfinkel possessed a remarkable court awareness and was a passing wizard. He was key member of the Philadelphia Warriors 1944-45 American Basketball League championship team.
