JOHN HARGIS
John Hargis was a four-sport letterman in high school in Nacogdoches, Texas. Hargis played basketball at the University of Texas for two years before he he served in the Marines during World War II. As a 26-year-old senior All-American, Hargis led led Texas to a 26-2 record and a third-place finish in the NCAA tournament. Hargis had a solid four-year career in the National Basketball League. In the second of his three seasons with Anderson (1948-49), the Packers won the NBL championship.

ED HARGADEN
Ed Haragden was a scholastic foootball, basketball and baseball star at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, New York. In 1932, Hargaden enrolled at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He was the leading scorer on the basketball team for three years and was named an All-American. After graduation, Haragden settled in Baltimore where he taught and coached basketball at Loyola High School for 27 years.

BILL HAPAC
Bill Hapac was an all-state high school basketball star in Chicago. He played basketball at the University of Illinois where in his senior year, he was honored as a Consensus NCAA First Team All-American. In addition to basketball, he also lettered for three years while playing for the school’s baseball baseball team. In 1940, Hapac made a strong debut in the National Basketball League with the Chicago Bruins, averaging 9.5 ppg, second best on the team. After service in World War II, Hapac returned to NBL for three more season before retiring in 1948.
