Bruce Gregory played basketball and football during his one year at the University of Michigan. Gregory played five games of pro basketball with Detroit Pulaski Post in the American Basketball League. Gregory also played one season in the National Football League with the Detroit Panthers in 1926.

Herb Gregg was was star athlete at Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri . Gregg played varsity basketball for three seasons at the University of Missouri and after graduation was hired to coach the freshmen basketball team. After service in World War II,Gregg briefly played professional basketball before embarking on a coaching career. He was head basketball coach at Northern Arizona State Teachers College for twenty-four seasons (1950-74).

Hank Greenberg was a baseball and basketball star at James Monroe High School in the Bronx, New York. Greenberg, along with future Philadelphia Sphas’ star Shikey Gotthoffer, led James Monroe to the three New York City high school basketball championships. Greenberg played major league baseball for thirteen seasons. He hit 331 home runs and had a lifetime .313 batting average. In 1956, he was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Emory “Em” Grayson was letterwinner in three sports at the University of Massachusetts (baseball, basketball and football). Grayson won a total of eight letters during his career and is regarded as one of the most versatile athletes in UMass history. He also competed in hockey and track. Upon graduation, Grayson played professional basketball for four seasons in the Interstate Basketball League. He was a four-year starter in the IBL, a league dotted with some of the best professional players of the era. After graduation he worked as a physical education instructor then later as the director of Placement Services at UMass. In 1942, at the age of 48, Grayson joined the Navy as a Lieutenant, Senior Grade and served throughout World War II.
